An alert is one sentence. Say what your spot needs, and Tonnr tells you when it works.

No more checking the forecast every morning. Tonnr does it for you.

Tell me when the waves are 1.2–2 m, with a period of 10 s or more, from WSW–NW, the wind is 12 kn or less, from NE–SE, and the tide is 2–4 m, rising, for at least 2 h.

  • The evening before. You know if tomorrow works.

  • On the day. A nudge when it begins.

  • Your way. By mail, by push, or both.

Everything to surf at the right time. The map needs no account. An account keeps your spots, alerts and sessions.

  • Swell, everywhere

The whole coast in color, with arrows where the waves go, now and for the days ahead.

  • Live buoys

What the sea is really doing, next to what was forecast.

  • 7 days, hour by hour

Swell, wind and weather, anywhere on the coast.

  • Tides, to the hour

High, low and the curve of the day.

  • Offshore or onshore?

Measured on the coast, and told as it meets your spot.

  • Your spots stay yours

Private by default, shared with one link.

  • Your surf log

Rate a session: Tonnr keeps what the sea did and learns what you like.

  • Guides written by locals

Every line confirmed by those who surf it.

  • Free, for real

No subscription, and open source. Improve the app, or ask for an API key and build your own version.

Why I make Tonnr.

I finally brought surfing and code together.

Tonnr grew out of another app, La Bouée, made by Thomas. It made me want to build my own, with what I was missing: spots, the conditions that make them work, alerts, and much more. Thanks to him.

I'm building it alone, and the app is young. If something's off, write to me: every message counts.

Ideas for what's next. Nothing here is promised: tell me which one you're waiting for most.

  • The app in your pocket

iOS and Android, with alerts as notifications.

  • More buoys, more spots

New measuring networks, and a much fuller catalogue of spots.

  • Tide coefficients

And times matched to the official tables, where their licence allows.

  • Your idea here

Tell me what you're missing, it comes straight to my inbox.

Live buoys and wind, from the source. Tonnr reads the public networks of buoys and wind stations, and open models. Each one is credited, with its licence.

Ask Claude or ChatGPT. They tell you if your spot works tomorrow: they read the sea, your spots and your sessions, and change nothing.

For developers

An API and an MCP server, read-only, with a key. For now I hand the keys out myself: tell me what you're building.
